Argentians security researchers have found a way to perform a BIOS malware attack.

At the last week’s CanSecWest conference, Alfredo Ortega and Anibal Sacco demonstrate method to infect the BIOS with a persistent code that will survive to reboot, flash attempts, hard-disk wipe. The demo ram on a Windows, BSD machines and even in a VM player.

Sacco said : “You can remove the hard drive, trash it, and even reinstall the operating system, this will still reinstall the rootkit.”
